When did you start playing wheelchair basketball?    2001 

Have you played with any clubs other than the CELTS?   

I played the "running game" with Plymouth Racers, Cardiff Uni and for Welsh Universities. And I have played Wheelchair Basketball with Bristol Pirates (2nd Division), London Force (1st Division and Womens League) and Oldham Owls (Superleague). 

 

Why do you enjoy playing basketball?   

I love being part of a team and I guess I am just addicted to basketball - its a great game! I am currently player/coaching CELTS 1 but am really enjoying my role as a coach more and more!

 

Playing History/Basketball Achievements :   

Domestic Achievements

2001/02 Season - won Division 2 South with Bristol Pirates;  2003/04, 2004/05, 2005/06, 2006/07, 2007/08 and 2008/09 Seasons - won Womens League with Force; 2010/11 Season - won Division 2 with CELTS.

Selected into the GB squad in January 2002 and has since represented Great Britain at the following tournaments :

Most memorable basketball moments (so far) :  

Scoring the opening basket for Great Britain at the Athens Paralympic Games 2004. 
Scoring a buzzer beater in a GB game in Hamburg, Germany 2007. Securing promotion with the CELTS at the end of the 2010/11 season. And My new most memorable moment is passing my Level 3 Coaching Qualification in 2014.

 

Other hobbies :    Photography, learning to play the guitar and learning to surf!

  

Personal Goals (basketball related) :  

To be the best coach I can be and to help make Cardiff CELTS Wheelchair Basketball Club a successful and inclusive place to enjoy playing basketball.
