Travel Costs - PLEASE NOTE!!!!

15/11/11  The Club's running costs are growing every year as the Club develops and fields more competitive teams. As a result the Committee has had to look closely at what we are spending our available funds on...and we have agreed the following new rules on TRAVEL COSTS that will apply immediately.

• The mileage rate is 18p per mile for all away games/tournaments. This should cover petrol costs if players are driving sensibly. Please note that this rate will not be exceeded.
• The Club will only fund the minimum number of vehicles which are needed to get ONLY players, staff and equipment to each game/tournament. If the arrangements leave a vacant space in any car, then friends and family will be allowed to travel in the "team" vehicle (but if these suporters result in more vehicles being necessary, the players involved will have to fund that transport).
  
• For all of the Club's teams every player (travelling in a car that the club is paying costs for) must pay £5 towards travel costs. So the driver of that car will get their petrol money less £5. Every other player must pay £5 to Sue before the match/tournament starts.
  

Could all CELTS competitive players please take note of these new travel cost rules. If anyone thinks these rules are going to cause any particular person undue hardship, then please contact a Committee member and, as usual, the Committee will try to help.
 

   1/11/11 CELTS and the massive contribution orchestrated by SWALEC's Claire John hit the newspapers!!

The CELTS would like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone at SWALEC, and particularly to Claire John for organising all the events to raise that massive total of £1,650!!! 

 

CLUB AGM - 22 September 2011

10/09/11   We're going to hold the Club's Annual General Meeting on Thursday 22nd September 2011 in between the two Club training sessions. This is your opportunity to get involved and really make a difference to the way your basketball Club is run - and it is YOUR basketball Club!! Please could all club members make every effort to attend. If anyone has any comments or suggestions ahead of the AGM (or at any time) please contact any Committee member!

 16/8/11 The CELTS have hit Wales Online!!!

The CELTS first team, having finished second in their geographical region of the second division, managed to take the PlayOffs by storm (in May 2011) by beating the (so far) undefeated Bury Bombers in a nail-biting final and finish the season in top spot...which has won the CELTS promotion to the first division!!

This is an amazing achievement for such a relatively new Club - and we are looking forward to the exciting new challenge of Division One for the 2011-2012 season.
